Library Management

Library management for the modern school library.

Catalog, issue, return, reservations, fines and reports — with barcode and QR support, all inside your school ERP.

School libraries are still, in most Indian institutions, managed on a stamped register and a card system. A student issues a book, the librarian writes it down, the card goes into a drawer, and the return is (hopefully) noted a week later. Fines are calculated by hand. Reservations are impossible. Reports are non-existent.

Devryon's library management system replaces this analog workflow with a modern digital library — one that respects the librarian's expertise while automating the repetitive work. Every book has a barcode or QR. Every issue is a scan. Returns, renewals, fines and reservations all run through a clean interface accessible on any device.

Because Devryon knows every student and staff member from the SIS, the library never needs a separate member database. Book issues automatically link to the correct student profile, fines automatically appear in the fee ledger, and parents can see what their child has borrowed and what is overdue.

From analog register to digital library — without the pain

The biggest fear librarians have about digitising a library is data entry. 'We have 10,000 books — who's going to type all of that in?' Devryon solves this in two ways. First, bulk import via ISBN: paste 500 ISBNs and every book's title, author, publisher and cover image is auto-fetched. Second, incremental cataloguing: books are added when they are first issued, so within one term the entire active collection is digital without a single data-entry marathon.

Barcoded stickers can be printed from Devryon and pasted onto books as they are catalogued. The same works for student ID cards — one QR ID card per student, doubling as their library ID. From that point on, every issue is a two-scan, two-second operation.

For libraries that already run some digital system — an Excel sheet, an old software with data export — Devryon's migration team imports the existing catalog in a single afternoon. The librarian's expertise is preserved; only the paperwork disappears.

Fines, notifications and the culture of reading

Overdue books are the biggest source of library friction. Students forget, librarians nag, parents get annoyed. Devryon fixes this with early notifications: three days before due, on the due date, and every 3 days after — via SMS and app push. Most students return on time simply because they were reminded.

For books that genuinely go overdue, fines are calculated automatically according to your school's policy — flat rate, per-day, capped or waived for first offences. The fine appears in the student's fee ledger and can be paid via the same UPI flow as tuition. There is no more counting rupees at the library counter.

Beyond the mechanics, digital library management supports a reading culture. When leadership can see, class by class, how many books were issued this month vs last, they can spot dips and encourage teachers. When parents can see what their child is reading, they can encourage them at home. The library becomes a conversation, not a warning system.
